About The Retreat

Friday, July 17th - 5 pm.  Arrive and set up camp for your weekend by the sea and in the trees.  Meet your fellow retreatants and your host, Amy Day, as she guides you through a sweet and easy yoga class designed to open you up to the creative juju that abounds in each of us.  Followed by a catered dinner and time to write, commune with your fellow writers, or soak in the outdoor hot tub beneath the stars.

Saturday, July 18th - After a brief, playful and invigorating yoga class led by your hostess, come into the community kitchen for a delicious breakfast and some time to share or journal on your own.  Followed by the morning workshop from 10-1 with DAVE HOLPER.

Enjoy an easy catered lunch (or request a sandwich to take down to the beach for some oceanside writing and reflection).  Then join us from 2-5 for another writing workshop hosted by LAUREN WILSON.

Spend some time enjoying a walk around the 38-acre property.  Play a round of frisbee golf or take a walk around the 1/2-mile long loop trail in the woods.  Or just cozy up once more to your new friends or writing project.  A lovely dinner, complete with wine & beer, will be offered up @ 6:30, followed by a fun and lively open-mic type offering wherein retreatants will have the chance to share a portion of their work aloud.

After that, journey on down to the hot tub or enjoy a late night writers' salon around the fire.

Sunday, July 19th - Our weekend culminates in one final, delicious meal served @ 9 am, followed by a final 3-hour workshop hosted by the lovely poet and instructor, THERESE KESLIN.

Bueno Mana ~ "Good Energy/Good Life"

Perched a mile and a half above lovely Moonstone Beach, we meet at an idyllic private retreat. Amassed from the collective wisdom and poetry of two cultures, 'Bueno", meaning "good" and from "Mana" - the Hawaiian word for power, healing, energy and Life Force. Come steep yourself in the combined alchemy of the two in this lovely rustic setting.
Stroll beneath the canopy of redwoods. Enjoy a glass of wine as you watch the sun dip below the silent trees. Take a moment to relax in the outdoor hot tub after a full day of productive prose. Nearby a plethora of beaches, woods, and myriad spots for creative contemplation. Enjoy this intimate gathering of local writers & artists, a chance to grow your craft and your artistic community - all in the relative ease of your own relative backyard.
